Ambala: Owners of 9 screening plants booked for running without permission

AMBALA: Ambala police on Tuesday booked the owners of 9 screening plants which were found operational without licenses and without ‘no objection certificate ( NOC )’ from the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) in Toka village of Ambala district.

In another case, the illegal miners were booked for mining in Dera Mauja village .



The cases have been registered on the complaint of Ambala mining officer Bhupinder Singh .

Bhupinder alleged, “On July 8, the teams of mining department inspected some screening plants operational in Toka village. It was found that Gotra Screening Plant, Hari Om Screening Plant and Samson Screening Plant were found operational without permission. They did not possess any NOC from HSPCB. Estimated around 660 metric ton (MT) gravel, boulders, and sand were found stocked at Gotra Screening Plant. Similarly, estimated 5,400 MT mineral at Hari Om Screening Plant, and estimated 1,120 MT minerals at Samson Screening Plant were stocked.”

In the second case, Bhupinder alleged, “In Dera village, S Screening Plant was found with the stocking of estimated 460 MT minerals, Sri Krishna Screening Plant with 200 MT, Mahamaya Bala Ji Sundri Screening Plant with 1,140 MT, Sri Ganga Screening Plant with 1,040 MT, D1K Screening Plant with 2,320 MT, and SS Associate with 1,740 MT stock of minerals. All these plants did not have licenses to stock the minerals and they were operational illegally.”

In the third case, the owners of the land have been booked under charges of illegal mining . Desraj, Parsa Ram, Prem Chand, Jai Singh and Jyotiram of Dera Mauja village have been booked for letting the illegal miners commit mining on their lands.

All the accused have been booked under Section 21 (4) (a) of the Mines and Mineral (Regulation of Development) Act and 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Naraingarh police station.

Naraingarh SHO, inspector Arvind Kumar said, “We have registered separate cases as per the statements of the mining officers and the investigations have been initiated.”
