Bara Toll Plaza rates reduced on Kanpur-Etawah highway

Kanpur: Toll rates have been reduced at Bara toll plaza on the Kanpur-Etawah highway. The new rates, effective from Saturday midnight, aim to provide relief to travellers.

Under the revised structure, a decrease of five rupees was implemented for one-way travel for cars, jeeps, and vans, reducing the toll from Rs 185 to Rs 180. A similar reduction of five rupees applies to the return journey.

Bus and truck drivers also benefited from the rate cuts. The one-way toll was lowered from Rs 590 to Rs 575, while the toll for returning within 24 hours decreased from Rs 885 to Rs 860. Additionally, the monthly pass rate was reduced from Rs 19,680 to Rs 19,100. Oversized vehicles saw a reduction of up to Rs 35, and the monthly pass rate for vehicles operating within a 20-kilometre radius was decreased from Rs 350 to Rs 340.

Manoj Sharma, joint general manager of the toll plaza, said that the new rates were implemented from Saturday midnight and that the software and banking systems were updated accordingly.

With the new rates in place, the average daily revenue of Bara toll plaza is anticipated to decline by approximately Rs 1.5 lakh, constituting about 2.05 percent of the total income. Currently, around 30,000 vehicles pass through the toll daily.
