Buxar: A tense situation unfolded at Koran Sarai village under the same police station area in Buxar district on Saturday as the grieving parents of 35-year-old Anjali Kumari , who died under mysterious circumstances in Assam two days ago, brought her body at her in-laws' place. They have accused her husband of murder. Accused Rahul Kumar Singh , an assistant station manager with Rangiya railway division in Assam, has been missing since the incident.

According to the victim's family, Singh slit her throat with a sharp weapon at his railway quarter and fled, leaving their two children — a son (5) and daughter (3) behind. The grieving parents brought her body back to Koran Sarai in a desperate attempt to trace him. However, they only found Singh's widowed mother at the residence. Emotions ran high, but local residents helped defuse the confrontation. The victim's parents later returned to their village at Bhadaura in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur district, along with Anjali's body and her two children.

Sources said that the couple's neighbours in Assam alerted local police after the incident.

Amit Kumar, the station house officer (SHO) of Koran Sarai police station, said that a team was dispatched to the village upon learning of the family's arrival. However, the family had already left for Ghazipur by the time the team reached the village.

Anjali and Rahul had been married for 10 years. Villagers said that the couple had been facing marital issues for some time, which could have contributed to the tragic incident. Police have launched a manhunt to trace Singh, said Koran Sarai SHO.
