Haryana: Shots fired at residence in Ambala Cantonment, case registered

AMBALA: A case was registered with the police after some gunshots were fired at a residence in Ambala Cantonment area in Haryana on Thursday at around 2.30am.


Vinod Kumar of Teli Mandi, Ambala Cantonment, lodged a complaint with the police alleging, “On Thursday, while I was sleeping at my home, I heard gunshots, at around 2.30 am, after which we went out to check.

I witnessed the glass window of my house was broken and marks of gunshot were also found at the wall. Somebody fired at our residence in order to frighten us.”

On his complaint, a case has been registered against unknown accused under Sections 25 of the Arms Act, 285 (negligence conduct with respect to fire or combustible manner) and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Ambala Cantonment police station.

Ambala Cantonment SHO inspector Narender Singh said, “We have registered a case as per the statement of the complainant. They have not raised any suspicion against any person so far. We are obtaining CCTV footage to further investigate in the case.”
