Lovers hang selves in Barmer district

JAISALMER: A 20-year-old youth and a minor girl hanged themselves from a tree under Sheo police station area in Barmer district on Saturday. They were said to be in love, but their families were opposed to their alliance, police officers told TOI on Saturday.


Police have started investigation. Sheo police station in-charge Surendra Prajapat said that Nep Singh (20), a resident of Mulana village of Jaisalmer district , was in love with a 17-year-old girl from another village.

Their families were opposed to their alliance as they were related to each other, the police officer said. Police said on Friday night, both went missing and on Saturday morning, their bodies were found hanging.
