Man kills barber shop worker at paan stall; held

Pune: Bharati Vidyapeeth police on Friday arrested a 30-year-old employee of a housekeeping firm on the charges of murdering a barber shop worker (25) during a petty quarrel over staring at each other in front of a paan stall at Sai Siddhi Chowk in Ambegaon Pathar around 10.30pm on Friday.

The police identified the deceased as Aryan Salve , who hailed form Satana in Nashik district. He had shifted to Pune over eight days ago and was staying with his maternal uncle in the city, the police said.

Senior inspector Rahul Khilare of Bharati Vidyapeeth police told TOI, "We arrested the attacker, Dhairyasheel More of Ambegaon Pathar, who was a complete stranger to the victim. The two had arrived the paan stall after having their respective dinners. More picked up an argument with Salve thinking that the latter was staring at him for no reason."

"Soon, More pulled out a billhook and started attacking the victim. Salve tried to block the attack, but in that bid, his fingers were chopped off. He also sustained severe injuries and succumbed."
