Man mows down father, stepbrother with van over property
BAREILLY In a sensational double murder, a man allegedly mowed down his father and stepbrother with his mini-van in Faridpur area of UP’s Bareilly over property dispute on Tuesday. The accused first hit the motorcycle on which his father and stepbrother was riding from behind. When they fell, the accused ran the vehicle over the victims several times.
Both the men died on the spot, and the accused fled. Police deployed multiple teams to nab him, and seized the mini-van used in the crime. A murder FIR was registered after the family filed a complaint at Faridpur police station.
Nanne Khan, a resident of Algani village in Faridpur, married twice. He had a son, Misriyar, and two daughters, Nasreen and Farmeen, from his first marriage. Nanne later married again and had a son, Maqsood .
Nanne owned 22 bighas of land, and gave four bighas to Misriyar and four-and-a-half bighas to Maqsood. He kept the remaining 13.5 bighas for himself to cover his expenses.
Nanne lived with his elder son, Misriyar, who took care of him. Maqsood suspected that his father might give all the land to Misriyar, and, hence, demanded one-third of his father's entire land. This issue often led to disputes in the family.
On Tuesday, Misriyar was going out with his father on a motorcycle when Maqsood learned about this and he followed them in his mini-van. Maqsood first hit their motorcycle on the Dakhni to Bhagwantpur road , and when the two riders fell, the former ran over them several times.
Some passersby tried to catch Maqsood, but he sped away. Police arrived and took the severely injured victims to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
SP (south) Anshika Verma said, “Police teams are working to nab the accused.”
