New Delhi: Commuters at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat station are now enjoying free live portrait sketching alongside an ongoing art exhibition. Hundreds of Namo Bharat commuters took part in this activity.

This initiative is organised in collaboration with the International Institute of Fine Arts (IIFA), Modinagar, where students from the institute are creating live sketches of passengers within the station premises. This live sketching zone is set up alongside a painting exhibition titled ‘Young Brush Strokes' in the non-paid area at the upper concourse level of the station. The exhibition features artworks by students and faculty of IIFA. The exhibition and live sketching experience will be available for commuters until July 27.

An official of National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which is executing Delhi-Meerut-Ghaziabad RRTS corridor, said, "NCRTC is striving to make the Namo Bharat journey more enjoyable by transforming its stations into vibrant cultural and social spaces, rather than mere transit points. Several efforts are being made in this direction, including the ongoing live sketching activity and art exhibition, to engage the commuters and enrich their travel experience." The official added that this initiative also provides a platform for young artists to showcase their talent and connect with a diverse audience, giving them an opportunity to present their work to thousands of people.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Shalabh Goel, managing director, NCRTC, on June 27.

Another such creative initiative that is transforming Anand Vihar station into a social hub is Namo Bharat Unplugged: Live Musical Fridays. Currently in its second edition, the event is organised every Friday at 6 pm at Anand Vihar station. Revived after the success of Season 1 and popular demand, Musical Fridays offers a platform to young and budding musical talents, bands, duets, and solo artists from schools, colleges, and independent circuits across NCR, to showcase their talent.
