Neighbour held for minor's sexual assault

New Delhi: A two-year-old girl was sexually assaulted allegedly by her neighbour in northwest Delhi's Bawana. Police arrested the accused in the case.

The incident occurred on June 28 when the girl's mother came to a police station and informed the cops that her daughter was sexually assaulted. "During inquiry, we found that the girl's neighbour was involved in the assault," police said, adding, the accused has been arrested. During inquiry, it came to light that both the accused and the girl lived in the same building. "He lured the girl to his room and assaulted her," police said.

Earlier this month, a nine-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and murdered in northeast Delhi's Dayalpur on a Saturday, her body discovered inside a suitcase. Police arrested the accused, who was her neighbour. TNN
