Pune: Several areas to face water cut on Thursday

Pune: Several areas in the city will not receive water supply on Thursday because of maintenance and repair works at water works units of the Pune Municipal Corporation.

Water supply will resume late on Friday at low pressure, the civic administration said.

The affected areas include those served by the water works in Parvati, Wadgaon, Chatushrungi-SNDT-Warje, Pune Cantonment as well as the New Holkar pumping station.

The works proposed at the stations pertain to civil maintenance, inspections of electric and pumping activities, among other repairs.

The Parvati water works caters to requirements of city’s largest areas. They include peth areas, Kothurd, Satara Road, Kondhwa and Law college Road.

Water cuts were imposed in a number of areas on September 5 due to technical glitches and leakages in the main supply lines. The civic administration had said that repairs of the two supply lines had to be undertaken immediately, which led to closure of supply to overhead tanks.
