Punjab: Patiala reports 118 Covid-19 positive cases, 2 deaths

PATIALA: PATIALA : 118 more cases including seven cops, two healthcare workers and two pregnant women reported positive of Covid-19 infection taking the tally to 3,095 so far while two deaths were reported taking the death toll to 56 so far.


The health officials revealed that around 130 more patients recovered from the infection on Tuesday and so far 1,938 people have recovered in Patiala district.

They said that 1,101 were active cases.

Dr Harish Malhotra, Patiala Civil Surgeon said that among the 118 positive cases reported on Tuesday included 68 from Patiala, 22 from Rajpura, five from Nabha, five from Samana and 18 from different villages. He said that among these, 34 were found through contact-tracing and 84 from containment zones and flu-like symptoms.

He said two more Covid-19 persons died including a 69-year-old person having co-morbid with diabetes and BP and was admitted to Gian Sagar medical hospital and a 68-year-old woman of Patran co-morbid with diabetes and hypertension and was admitted at Government Rajindra Hospital Patiala. He added that over 53,233 samples have been taken for testing of which 1,900 reports were pending while 48015 reported negative.

Meanwhile 15 cases were reported in Fatehgarh Sahib taking the tally to 531 positive cases so far of which 141 are active while total five deaths have taken place so far in the district.
