Shepherd hacked to death in Charholi
Pune: A shepherd (33) was hacked to death with sharp weapons in Charholi on Saturday. The Dighi police found the body and identifies the deceased as Dhanu Lakde .
Lakde was currently residing near Kale Colony on Alandi Road and hailed from Daund taluka. His brother, Somnath Lakde (21), lodged a complaint against unknown person(s).
An officer from the Dighi police said Lakde's body was found on an open plot at Charholi on Saturday morning. He was assaulted with a sharp weapon on his head and other body parts. His brother later ascertained his identity. "The victim is from a shepherd family and used to move from one place to another with the herd of sheep," the officer said.
He said the reason behind murder is not yet known. "We are checking CCTV footage in the area. Our investigations are ongoing," he said.
