Three wanted criminals arrested in Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur: Three inter-district criminals, accused in different crime incidents, in Munger and Bhagalpur districts, were arrested during a raid at their hideout in Golahu village under Madhusudanpur police station area in the district on Thursday night. The three criminals were identified as Lalji Kumar alias Lalji Yadav and Sunny Kumar Yadav, residents of Sitakund Dih in Munger, and Citi Yadav from Golahu village.

According to police, acting on a tip-off that some criminals have gathered at Golahu village and are planning to execute some crime, Bhagalpur SSP Hriday Kant formed a special investigation team (SIT) headed by DSP (City-2) Rakesh Kumar and City SP Shubhank Mishra. The team conducted a raid at the village, and arrested the criminals. After interrogation at the police station, the criminals were produced before the court and later forwarded to the jail on Friday. All the three criminals were involved in several cases of murder, attempt to murder, loot and Arms Act in Munger and in Madhusudanpur police station area of Bhagalpur.

The police team also seized two country made pistols, seven live cartridges, two cartridges, two cellphones, one PAN card, one Aadhaar card and seven bank passbooks, Rs 40,000 in cash, besides other incriminating documents.

City SP Shubhank Mishra said that all the arrested persons had criminal history, and were absconding. The police personnel from the Madhusudanpur police station, including quick response team (QRT) members, played key role in arresting the criminals, he added.
