5 killed as van collides with bike in Mahoba

Kanpur: A tragic road accident in Mahoba district's Srinagar police area claimed five lives and left three people severely injured when a van collided with a motorcycle.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the affected families and directed the district officials to visit the accident site and ensure proper care for the injured.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon near Nanoura village. A group travelling in a van from Bagron village in Charkhari was heading to Nanoura village for a family event. Near Nanoura village, the van collided with a motorcycle. The collision was so severe that the motorcycle got lodged in the car and both the vehicles dragged on the road for approximately 20 metres before falling into a ditch.

Local residents, upon hearing the crash, rushed to help and alerted the police. On being informed, officials from Srinagar police station and administration arrived at the accident site. The police sent the injured to hospital and started the process for identification of the deceased.

According to the eyewitnesses, both the vehicles were at high speed, leading to the unavoidable collision.
