Ghaziabad: Four people, including a woman, were injured on Saturday afternoon after a speeding private bus rammed into two motorcycles waiting at a red light in Ghaziabad's Sihani Gate area. The incident was captured on CCTV and has since gone viral on social media, sparking concerns over road safety and reckless driving.

The collision occurred around 1 pm near Seth Mukandlal Inter College. According to police, the victims had stopped at the traffic signal when the bus, which was behind them, suddenly lurched forward as the signal turned green, hitting both motorcycles with considerable force.

The injured have been identified as Omveer Singh, a resident of Nangloi in Delhi, and his wife Meera, who were headed to Wave City, and Jaswant Singh and Ajay Gupta, who were on a separate motorcycle. Meera and Jaswant sustained more serious injuries, while Omveer and Ajay escaped with minor wounds. All four were rushed to MMG District Hospital for treatment.

"The impact of the collision was so severe that both bikes were dragged under the front portion of the bus," a senior police officer said. Fortunately, none of the victims were trapped beneath the vehicle. The private bus was operating on the Maharajpur–Govindpuram route and had around 10 passengers onboard at the time. Immediately after the accident, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

"An FIR has been lodged against an unidentified person under relevant sections for rash and negligent driving," said DCP Dhawal Jaiswal
