School student hit by toto in Koderma, dies

Koderma: A five-year-old student of Jeevan Jyoti School died after being hit by an e-rickshaw near J J College on Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was coming to Koderma from Jhumritilaiya. Suddenly, Vinil Hansda, accompanied by a neighbour, ran across the road near JJ College in a bid to reach his mother, who was waiting for him on the opposite side after school hours. The driver attempted to stop, but could not and the vehicle overturned, they added.

Vinil was taken to the Sadar hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The officer in-charge of the Koderma police station, Vikas Kumar Paswan, said, "The family members did not lodge any complaint."
