'Sitaare Zameen Par' box office collection day 6: The Aamir Khan starrer crosses Rs 80 crore, sees a slight drop in the business on Wednesday

' Sitaare Zameen Par ' released in cinemas on June 20. The film starring Aamir Khan , Genelia D'souza Deshmukh and along with the ten disabled kids who are the real stars of the movie, has been very well received. It saw a double digit opening on day 1 which is great for a film like this which largely depended on word of mouth. The film grew in terms of numbers more over the weekend as largely there have been only positive reviews for it, despite the initial criticism which came after the trailer. Earlier people had accused the movie to be a frame to frame copy of 'Champions' and it is a remake. But after the film has released, there's largely been positive reviews surrounding the movie.

Sitaare Zameen Par Movie Review

On Friday, the film collected Rs 10.7 crore. Meanwhile, on Saturday, it saw a growth of around 88.79 percent and made Rs 20.2 crore. On Sunday, it saw a further jump of 34.90 percent according to Sacnilk and made Rs 27.25 crore. From that, the film saw a major drop on Monday and made Rs 8.5 crore. Now even Tuesday, has begun on a similar note as Monday and one expects the movie to sustain the same as that number. On Tuesday, the movie made the same as the Monday number which is Rs 8.5 crore. The numbers on Tuesday could also have been more due to more footfalls as at many theatres like PVR Inox, the ticket price is at a discounted rate on Tuesday. The fact that it remained steady is a great sign. On Wednesday, up, the film has made Rs 7.25 crore till the night. So, it seems like the film has seen a slight drop. But we shall know when the final day 6 numbers come on Thursday. The total collection now stands at Rs 82.40 crore.

The film is doing better in multiplexes than single screens. According to Box Office India, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has also done well in territories like Rajasthan and Gujarat where usually Aamir films don't do well. So, it's an encouraging sign.
