Eid Al-Fitr 2022: Best Mehndi designs on the internet you must try this Eid
Eid ul Fitr 2022 is here. This year, the festival's celebrations in India will begin on Monday evening, May 2 and it will go on till Tuesday evening, May 3 (though the dates may vary on the Moon sighting). For those who don't know, Eid ul Fitr is an annual Muslim festival and it marks the ending of Ramadan. This means that the month-long dawn-to-dusk fasting observed by Muslims during the holy period of Ramadan finally comes to end. This is an important festival that is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal , which is the tenth month as per the Islamic calendar (Hijri).
The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor by Muslims all over the world. The festivities of Eid ul Fitr begin after the sighting of the crescent moon. Many followers of Islam organize lavish feasts at their homes to celebrate this festival. Though Eid ul-Fitr marks the breaking of the month-long Ramadan fasting period, it is celebrated over three days. On this auspicious day, Muslims wake up early in the morning, do their daily prayers (Salat ul-Fajr), have a bath, and wear ittar (perfume) and new clothes. Followers of Islam then eat a filling breakfast before heading out to perform the special congregational prayers organized on this day to seek the almighty's blessings. Eid ul Fitr is also called Choti Eid. Popularly, it is known as Meethi Eid as on this occasion delicacies like seviyan, phirni, and kheer are also prepared at home. Children are given Eidi (money or gifts) on this day by their elders--- this makes Eid ul Fitr all the more special for them. Many girls and women also wear beautiful mehndi or henna on their hands (and feet) to celebrate this joyous festival.
