Shimla: Police blame BJP minister for making corruption message viral

DHARAMSHALA: A day before chief minister Jairam Thakur 's tour to Delhi on Tuesday ahead of cabinet expansion and reshuffle in Himachal Pradesh , police accused BJP leader Ravinder Ravi of making a corruption message viral that has dented the image of sitting health minister Vipin Parmar. Ravi however claimed this as a political move aimed to protect few leaders in cabinet reshuffle.

Kangra superintendent of police, Vimukt Ranjan on Monday issued a statement that mobile phone of Ravi and another person was sent for investigation with forensic department.

“The forensic report in this case has provided evidences that Ravinder Ravi had provoked the other persons for making the corruption message viral,” he added.

Reacting to the revelations made by the police, Ravinder Ravi said that the chief minister is mulling cabinet expansion and a day before his tour to Delhi, such statement has been issued by the police under the pressure of government.

"This statement clearly indicates that it has been issued just to benefit some persons in the government. Police however have failed to find the person who has written this corruption message,” he added.

Police had lodged a case in September this year on a complaint of Dilbag Singh Parmar against Manoj Masand blaming the latter for spreading a post to tarnish the image of health minister Vipin Singh Parmar.

Following the investigations, police interrogated Ravinder Ravi. Mobile phones of Masand and Ravi were taken in custody. Both the phones were sent to forensic labs for further investigations.

Leader of opposition, Mukesh Agnihotri also raised the issue of corruption in health department last week in a Congress rally at Mandi.
