Viral graft message widens rifts in Himachal BJP
DHARAMSALA: A new group of disgruntled leaders is emerging within BJP and police action on graft message against a former minister and senior party leader Ravinder Ravi has given ammunition to them.
A day before chief minister’s visit to Delhi ahead of cabinet expansion, police came out with a statement that graft message revealing corruption in state health ministry was made viral by Ravinder Ravi.
Police also named health minister Vipan Parmar that this message had dented his image.
The viral message was circulated across the social media platforms in recent months. It was addressed to the former chief minister Shanta Kumar over his book ‘Bhrashtachar Ka Kadwa Sach’ asking him that whether this book was written just to not allow previous BJP government to repeat or it was in public interest.
Message further asked Kumar to break his silence stating that low quality medicines are being supplied in state hospitals. “A close aide of sitting CM had supplied medicines worth Rs 35 crores and officials in health department are being forced to by medicines from him,” the message quoted.
The viral message was circulated across the social media platforms in recent months. Police was investigating this graft message case from last three months. But despite finding the author of the message. The allegations were labelled on Ravi based on forensic reports. Police alleged that Ravi provoked another person to make this message viral.
The statement of police against Ravinder Ravi has given ammunition to the group of disgruntled leaders who have already changed their loyalties to Dhumal faction in BJP.
Evidently, it was for the first time since Anurag Thakur assumed the post of minister of state in union ministry of finance and corporate affairs that all annoyed leaders in ruling BJP welcomed Thakur last Saturday on his arrival at Kangra airport.
The senior party leaders who are learnt to be annoyed include BJP MP Kishan Kapoor, Cabinet minister Sarveen Choudhary, Vice-chairman of planning board Ramesh Dhawala, former president of state mahila morcha Indu Goswami and those who were denied ticket in recent by-elections in Dharamshala. All of them reached airport except Dhawala and accompanied Anurag during his one-day tour to Dharamshala.
Though, Anurag Thakur was maintaining distance from jumping in unrest of state politics. But well-placed sources told that party leaders have planned a strategy to organize his programs in the areas in coming days.
