Apple has released the iOS 26 beta 2 version, the latest test version of its iPhone software to developers. To recall, iOS 26 was announced at Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) earlier this month. It is the next major update after iOS 18. With iOS 26, Apple has changed the version numbers of all its operating systems this year to match the calendar year — so iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS are all moving to version 26.

How to download iOS 26 beta 2

As mentioned above, the beta 2 version of iOS 26 is currently available for developers only. Public beta is expected to come next month. It is available to the developers through the Apple Developer Program at developer.apple.com.

Those who have already enrolled in the program can visit the Settings > General > Software Update page and choose iOS 26 Developer Beta from the Beta Updates row.

Features coming with iOS 26

One of the major updates coming with iOS 26 is the all-new Liquid Glass interface , a sleek, translucent design language that gives the iPhone a more dynamic and fluid feel. The update brings a completely redesigned Photos app that makes it easier to find, relive, and organize memories.

iOS 26 also introduces a smarter Siri with more natural language understanding and on-screen awareness, a new Passwords app, improved tapback reactions in Messages, and the ability to mirror an iPhone directly to a Mac. The update includes several accessibility enhancements and systemwide improvements aimed at making the iPhone experience more intuitive and powerful.
