Man loses 26.8L in online fraud

T'puram: A Nettayam native lost Rs 26.85 lakh after clicking a Twitter link about ‘Stock Suggestions'.

The scammers contacted him in March, offering a free stock trading course and adding him to a WhatsApp group. They shared fake success stories and initially provided small profits to gain trust. The victim continued investing despite not receiving returns.

Police registered a case under various sections including cheating, forgery and IT Act violations. TNN
