Tiff with wife: Man hurls his two kids down a 300-ft gorge

NAMAKKAL: Angered by his estranged wife's refusal to live with him, a 28-year-old man hurled their two children down a 300ft-deep gorge in the Kolli Hills , killing them instantly. The crime committed on November 8 came to light only on Wednesday after his wife lodged a complaint with the Vazhavandhi Nadu police in Kolli Hills that the children were missing.

Police said they have arrested A Siranjeevi , of Arasampatty village in the Kolli Hills, for murdering Giridass, 8, and Kavidarshini, 5.

Bakkiyam, 24, left Siranjeevi, a casual labourer, about six months ago after a family dispute and moved to her father's house along with her children at Kavarapatty village atop the Kolli Hills, said an investigation officer.
