Sanju Weds Geetha-2: Complaint filed against actress Rachita Ram for skipping promotional events
Bengaluru: The makers of the recently re-released Kannada film Sanju Weds Geetha-2 have lodged a complaint with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) against actress Rachita Ram, alleging that she failed to participate in the promotional activities of the film. The team has urged the Chamber to take strict action against the actress.
The film, starring Srinagar Kitty and Rachita Ram in lead roles, hit screens again recently. However, the absence of the lead actress during the film’s promotional campaign has reportedly disappointed the team.
“She didn’t show up even once,” alleges film team
Members of the production unit expressed their frustration, stating, “Rachita Ram, who plays the female lead, did not attend even a single day of promotions. After accepting all the benefits from the film, showing such disinterest is unacceptable,” the team complained in strong terms.
Director Nagshekar speaks out
Director Nagashekar, visibly upset, said, “We invest crores of rupees in a film. From food and costumes to remuneration, we ensure every artist is taken care of. When it comes to promotions, we expect their full support. Being an actor is not limited to appearing in scenes; they must also stand with the team to ensure the film’s success.”
No response despite multiple attempts, says producer
Producer Chhalavadi Kumar, voicing similar concerns, said, “Rachita Ram has not turned up for any promotional event. We had earlier raised this concern and informed her as well, but there was no response. We even conveyed the issue to Rockline Venkatesh, Secretary of the Artistes’ Association. He too tried to mediate. Even producer Soorappa Babu personally reached out to her. We made several attempts to get in touch through her manager, but none were fruitful.”
“Given her continued non-cooperation, we demand that strict disciplinary action be taken,” he added.
As of now, there has been no official response from Rachita Ram regarding the allegations.
