Hyderabad: A sudden water tank burst on the set of The India House, a much-awaited period drama produced by actor Ram Charan, caused major disruption during the film’s shoot near Shamshabad on Thursday morning. The incident led to unexpected flooding, injuring several crew members and bringing the production to a halt.

The large tank, constructed to shoot ocean-themed sequences, gave way without warning, sending gallons of water surging across the outdoor set. According to reports confirmed by leading national dailies, an assistant cameraman sustained serious injuries and is currently under treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad. Several other crew members reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Footage of the incident, which has surfaced on social media, shows chaos as water gushed through the set. Crew members can be seen scrambling to save themselves and the filming equipment. The mishap damaged several expensive props and disrupted the filming schedule.

According to media reports, no official police complaint has been lodged yet, and it is still unclear if lead actor Nikhil Siddhartha or other principal cast members, including Anupam Kher and Saiee Manjrekar, were present during the incident.

Directed by Ram Vamsi Krishna, The India House is Ram Charan’s first production venture under his banner V Mega Pictures. The film, announced in 2023 to mark the 140th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar, is set in the year 1905 and follows a fictional love story against the backdrop of India’s pre-independence revolutionary movement.
