Puttur: Hindu society does not need support from extremist outfits, says Arun Kumar Puthila
Puttur: Hindu activist Arun Kumar Puthila has stated that Hindu society has never faced such a helpless situation where ‘justice for Hindu daughters’ depends on the agitation of “extremist organisations.”
He was addressing a press conference regarding a case in which a young woman was allegedly deceived into a relationship under the pretext of marriage. He said, “Our expectation was only that the survivor must get justice. It was not a matter to be debated publicly on the streets.”
Arun Kumar Puthila claimed that the entire Hindu community stands with the survivor’s family and is committed to ensuring that justice is served. However, he expressed displeasure that the survivor’s mother took part in a protest organised by the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), a group he referred to as having a ‘jihadi mindset’.
“This kind of participation was not appropriate,” he said.
Furthermore he urged elected representatives in responsible positions to ensure fair investigation and justice in the case.
He further added that the Hindu community has not come to a state where it must rely on ‘religiously fanatical’ organisations for justice. Referring to earlier incidents like the murders of Praveen Nettaru and Suhas Shetty, he reiterated that such groups have no role in delivering justice to victims.
He demanded the arrest of the actual accused in the case and justice for the innocent child involved.
