Belagavi medical graduate among victims of Ahmedabad plane crash
Belagavi: Dr Pratik Joshi, a former student of KLE Medical College in Belagavi, was among those who lost their lives in the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday. He was travelling with his wife and three children, all of whom also died in the accident.
Dr Joshi completed his MBBS from KLE College between 2000 and 2005. Originally from Rajasthan, he had settled in Gujarat and was on his way to London with his family for professional reasons.
KLE College Principal Dr Niranjana Mahanteshetti expressed grief over his death, remembering him as a bright student who was friendly with everyone. “He had achieved much in the medical field and was travelling to London with his family to build a new future. It is deeply saddening that his life ended so tragically,” she said.
Friends and batchmates of Dr Joshi, including Dr Jyoti Benni and Dr Mansi Gosavi, recalled their memories of him. “He used to sit right next to me in class,” said one of them.
The 25th anniversary of their batch was scheduled for September this year, and Dr Joshi had confirmed his participation. “He was active in our WhatsApp group and remained in touch with all of us. It is painful to think we will now have to celebrate our silver jubilee without him,” said his batchmates.
