Court allows Darshan to travel abroad for film shoot
Bengaluru: Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is out on conditional bail in the Renukaswamy murder case, has been granted permission by a Bengaluru court to travel abroad for a film shoot.
The 57th City Civil and Sessions Court passed the order on Wednesday after hearing Darshan’s petition filed under Section 439(1)(b) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). The actor had requested temporary relaxation of his bail conditions to travel between July 11 and July 30.
According to the petition, Darshan is scheduled to travel to Dubai and certain European countries for the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Devil’. The actor’s legal team informed the court that some crucial portions of the film must be shot overseas, and the schedule cannot be postponed.
Darshan is one of the accused in the June 2024 murder case of fan Renukaswamy. He, along with actress Pavithra and several others, was arrested on charges of kidnapping and murder.
