Yadgir: Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Saturday (June 14) announced that a proposal worth ₹800 crore has been submitted to the cabinet under the newly framed ‘Health Innovation Scheme’ to scientifically address the healthcare needs of the Kalyana Karnataka region.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Health Innovation Scheme in Yadgir, the minister stated that the plan was drafted based on a detailed assessment of demand, necessity, and population statistics of the region. He recalled that during the recent cabinet meeting held in Kalaburagi, a resolution was passed to give special attention to this backward region.

“The scheme is aimed at uplifting healthcare infrastructure across the seven districts of Kalyana Karnataka. Going forward, works will begin using the allocated funds in a phased manner. Health and education are key focus areas for our government, and we are committed to continuous improvement in these sectors,” he said.

Taking a jibe at the opposition, the minister remarked, “Those who did little while in power are now busy criticizing us. Let them criticize—we are releasing funds and taking up real developmental work.”

He further clarified that the Health Innovation Scheme has been designed with complete transparency, without political bias or self-interest. “The implementation will be purely need-based and scientifically structured to ensure equitable healthcare access,” he asserted.
