Gangolli boat tragedy: Body of another missing fisherman found near Kodi coast

Kundapura: The body of Jagannath Kharvi, one of the three fishermen who went missing in the Gangolli boat tragedy, was found on Wednesday evening (July 16) near the Kodi coast in Kundapura.

The fishing boat had ventured into the sea from the Gangolli harbour on the morning of July 15. However, it capsized after being hit by strong waves. Of the four fishermen onboard, one managed to swim to safety, while three were reported missing.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, the body of Lohith Kharvi (38) was found near the sea shore close to the Kodi Lighthouse. Later in the evening, Jagannath Kharvi’s body was recovered near the Kodi coast.

Search operations are still underway to locate the third missing fisherman, Suresh Kharvi. Authorities have deployed drones to aid in the search efforts.
