Heavy rain alert: Holiday declared for schools and colleges in taluks on July 3

In view of the continuous heavy rainfall lashing several taluks, authorities have declared a holiday for all educational institutions as a precautionary measure for Wednesday, July 3.

The order, issued by respective taluk tahsildars, applies to all Anganwadi centres, government, aided, and private primary and high schools, as well as pre-university colleges within the rain-affected taluks.

Officials have also urged the public and tourists to avoid visiting low-lying areas, riverbanks, and lakesides due to the risk of waterlogging and flash flooding. Strict vigilance has been advised in vulnerable zones to prevent any untoward incidents during the ongoing monsoon spell.
