Puttur: Bail plea hearing in student cheating case postponed to July 3

Puttur : The Mangaluru Sixth Additional District and Sessions Court has postponed the hearing of an anticipatory bail petition filed by Srikrishna J Rao, the accused in a student cheating case, to July 3.

Srikrishna, who is reportedly absconding, is the son of BJP leader P Jagannivasa Rao. The case was registered at the Puttur Women’s Police Station based on a complaint filed by a fellow student.

According to the police complaint, the accused allegedly promised to marry the girl, called her home when no one was around, and forced her into a physical relationship. The girl later became pregnant, after which the accused is said to have refused to marry her.

The police have initiated further investigation into the case.
