Several trees fall on Hulikal Ghat road, disrupting traffic

Shivamogga: Traffic movement was affected on the Hulikal Ghat stretch, which connects Shivamogga with Kundapura and Udupi, after several trees fell across the road due to heavy rains.

A number of trees have fallen on the road between the Shivamogga border and Hosangadi side, while a few others are leaning dangerously, posing a threat to motorists. In some parts of the ghat, trees that had fallen earlier have not been cleared yet, adding to the inconvenience.

Motorists are also facing difficulty as potholes have appeared along the edge of the concrete road, increasing the risk of accidents.

Meanwhile, the drains along the ghat stretch are overflowing due to continuous rains, leading to water flowing over the road. Locals and vehicle users have urged the authorities to take immediate action to ensure safe travel along the route.
