Yadgir: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Saturday formally launched health infrastructure works worth Rs 440.63 crore under the ‘Health Innovation Scheme’ at the district stadium in Yadgir. The event was organised jointly by the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) and the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

The Rs 440 crore worth of projects laid the foundation for the larger Rs 800 crore initiative aimed at transforming healthcare infrastructure across the backward Kalyana Karnataka region. Officials stated that the scheme is a unique step in addressing healthcare disparities in the region through targeted, scientific planning.

The event began with a welcome address by MLA Chennareddy Patil. Prior to the formal proceedings, attendees observed a moment of silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the recent plane crash in Ahmedabad. The programme then commenced with the rendition of the state anthem.

As the dignitaries arrived, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Siddaramaiah, and DK Shivakumar, the gathered crowd erupted in cheers, expressing their admiration and excitement.

Officials said the health innovation programme will enable a significant boost to public health facilities across Yadgir and surrounding districts, ensuring quality healthcare access in underserved areas.
