Bus crushes woman to death in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 61-year-old homemaker died on the spot and her husband sustained injuries when a private bus rear-ended their two-wheeler in Mahadevapura Friday morning. The deceased, M Menaka , is a resident of A Narayanapura.

The accident occurred around 8am near Benniganahalli bridge when Menaka was riding pillion with her husband, Mahadevaiah. "The couple was riding towards Indiranagar and the private bus was heading to KR Market from Hoskote. The bus rammed Mahadevaiah's two-wheeler, throwing the couple onto the road. Menaka came under the front wheel and died," a police officer said.

The bus driver, identified as Nayaz Pasha, 22, was arrested. Menaka is survived by Mahadevaiah and two children, including a daughter.
