Electoral roll revision: Salary of 5 Buxar officials withheld for dereliction of duty

Buxar: District magistrate Vidyanand Singh , who also serves as the district election officer, ordered the withholding of salaries of five Rajpur block officials for dereliction of duty in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral roll. The DM also sought written explanations from them for their absence in the meeting and dereliction of duty. The directive was issued during a review meeting held on Sunday.

The five officials, against whom action was taken, are Shweta Kumari, child development project officer of Rajpur; Alok Kumar, block coordinator, Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan of Rajpur; Yogita Singh, women supervisor of Rajpur; Jyotis Mati Kumari, women supervisor of Rajpur; and Rinku Kumari, women supervisor of Rajpur.

The meeting, chaired by the DM, was convened to assess the progress of the electoral roll revision. Shashi Bhushan, electoral registration officer (ERO) Rajpur-cum-land reforms deputy collector, Buxar; Alok Narayan Vats, senior deputy collector, Buxar; Siddharth Kumar, assistant electoral registration officer-cum-block development officer; along with BLO supervisors and other staff were present in the meeting.

The DM instructed all BLO supervisors to ensure 100% verification of enumeration forms and timely data entry through the designated mobile application. He issued strict directions to maintain transparency, accountability, and adherence to deadlines throughout the process. "All officials must perform their responsibilities diligently and within stipulated timelines to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of electoral process," he added.
