Gang-rape: 3 arrested in Dholpur dist

Jaipur: Dholpur police Sunday arrested three men for the alleged gang rape of a 16-year-old girl in the Kolari area on the night of June 30. The arrests follow an FIR lodged by the victim's family, who reported abduction and sexual assault.

According to police, the girl was sleeping on the rooftop of her house with her mother when she received a phone call around 11 PM. A neighbour allegedly asked her to come outside to discuss an urgent matter. Once she stepped out, three men reportedly overpowered her, covered her mouth, and dragged her to a nearby house where they allegedly raped her. The girl's father discovered her missing the next morning. A search led him to a neighbour's house where he found his daughter. By then, the accused had fled the village.

An FIR was registered at Kaulari police station under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The case was handed over to circle officer Anup Kumar. A forensic team examined the crime scene, the girl's statement was recorded before a magistrate. TNN
