Man who killed relative, chopped off genitals held by MBVV crime branch after 13 years on the run
VASAI: The MBVV Crime Branch Unit I has nabbed a murder accused on the run for the last 13 years, since May 2012, after he had brutally killed his close relative by stabbing him several times on face, chest, stomach and rest of the body.
The murder was so brutal that the accused didnt stop at stabbing but had also chopped off his genitals and fled the scene, going absconding for a decade plus. The murder took place on the night of May 28, 2012, at the house of the deceased, Sureshkumar Chaudhary ,35, in Bhayandar east.
The Navghar cops registered a case against an unknown person under IPC section of 302 (murder) and were investigating this case, but since the accused kept changing his location this case remained unsolved.
We were scouting his village and got a lead that he had remarried and his wife stayed in Bihar, said a senior officer with the crime branch. We then realised that she got calls from Delhi and everytime the number was a different one, but the origin was Delhi, he added.
So we kept checking the locations from where the calls originated and identified the accused Govindkumar Harak aka Jagatnarayan Chaudhary from a shop. He was working as a labourer for the last decade plus since he was absconding. Sources confirmed that he had murdered him, doubting the extra marital affair with his wife
