Mumbai logs 696 COVID-19 cases; doubling rate now 598 days

With the addition of 696 new coronavirus cases, the infection count in Mumbai rose to 7,15,146.

The death toll in the financial hub climbed to 15,146 after 24 more patients succumbed to the infection, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation data showed.

Mumbai on Thursday reported 658 recoveries, pushing the tally of recoveries in the city to 6,81,946.

With 26,228 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the cumulative tests conducted in the city so far for detection of Covid-19 reached 65,61,197.


The recovery rate of Mumbai district stands at 95 per cent, while the doubling rate has improved to 598 days.

The overall growth rate of Covid-19 cases in Mumbai from June 4 to June 10 has dropped to 0.11 per cent.

The BMC has sealed 92 buildings and identified 24 areas as containment zones.
