'Not All Heroes Wear Capes': Brave Mumbai Police Constable Rescues Life Of Drowning Woman At Bandstand

Mumbai: When it comes to safeguarding the citizens, Mumbai police have been active in rescues and assisting the citizens. A recent story highlighting the heroism of Mumbai police involves a 53-year-old mentally unstable woman who leaped from Bandra's Bandstand and was saved by a police constable on the scene.

A recent post on the official X account of the Mumbai police has been circulating on social media, praising the courageous actions of constable Sainath Devde, who came to the aid of a mentally challenged woman and ensured she received necessary medical care.

As per the Mumbai Police's post, the 53-year-old woman, who has a mental illness, jumped into the water at Bandra's Bandstand out of fear of being pursued by someone. The police constable Sainath Devde on duty rushed to her aid and managed to pull her back to the shore, despite her losing consciousness. The woman's family was promptly informed, and she was timely admitted to Homi Bhabha Hospital for care. The statement also indicated that the woman is currently in stable condition.
