Nashik: One man was fatally shot at the bus terminus in Jalgaon's Pachora on Friday, police said. While two men were arrested, a minor involved in the incident was detained, Pachora police said.

Inspector Ashok Pawar, of the Pachora police station, said, "Two people approached the victim on a motorcycle, and one of them fired six shots, resulting in the man's immediate death. The incident occurred at 7pm on Friday."

Police said the victim has been identified as 25-year-old Akash More . They said More and the two motorcycle-borne assailants knew each other and lived in the same area of Pachora town. They had pending cases for attempt to murder registered against them during the Nov assembly elections.

Pawar said, "The two assailants and the victim were earlier friends. They worked together and had a case of attempt to murder registered against them during the assembly elections. The recent assault stemmed from recent animosity between them."

A minor and one of the accused, Nilesh Sonawane, approached More at the bus terminus, where he was visiting relatives. Sonawane opened fire, leaving More lying in a pool of blood before fleeing the scene.

Upon receiving the report, police reached the spot and took More to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Both assailants surrendered at Jamner Police Station, admitting to the murder. Investigations identified a third accused, Sharad Patil, who supplied them with a country-made revolver. Sonawane and Patil were remanded into police custody until Tuesday, and the minor was sent to a remand home.
