Swar Kokilaye make it a musical evening

Musical legacy of Bollywood’s most popular female singers was relived at a program organized at Indore’s Jaal Sabhagraha on Sunday in which local female artistes - dubbed as swar kokilaye- sang some of the best yesteryear’s songs. The melodies originally in the voices of Nurjahan, Mubarak Begum, Suraiyya, Geeta Dutt , Shamdhaad Begum, Lata Mangeshkar , Asha Bhonsle etc. in the program. The range of songs varied from patriotic to hit filmi numbers. Even the period of songs ranged between 50s to 80s, an era that is popular among all age groups of audience. Performing artists for the evening were Latika Sinha, Jyoti Mishra, Somya Sinha and Gunjan Dubey. The music was orchestrated by Sanjeev Sinha. They also paid homage to martyrs of Pulwama attack through their songs.
