Telanagana CM RevanthReddy urges Congress cadre to step up outreach, promises tickets to committed workers
HYDERABAD: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy sent a strong message to Congress leaders and cadre, urging them to work tirelessly to ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming local body polls—a stepping stone, he said, to securing a second consecutive term in the assembly and putting the party in a strong position for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at the political affairs committee and TPCC extended executive committee meetings held at Gandhi Bhavan, Revanth told party workers that the ongoing political scenario, especially the forthcoming delimitation of constituencies, would open up new opportunities for emerging leadership. “Future elections will offer a significant platform for new and young leaders. Those who prove their commitment and hard work now will be in line for tickets in the next assembly and Lok Sabha polls,” Revanth said.
Referring to the pending appointment of chairpersons and directors in various corporations, market boards, and temple committees, Revanth said that many committed grassroots workers, including those from frontal organisations, had already been accommodated.
However, he expressed concern over delays in submitting finalised names. “For the past four months, I have been asking for the list of nominees. I am ready to approve it the moment it comes from in-charge ministers and the TPCC chief,” he said.
He urged party leaders to aggressively publicise the achievements of the Congress govt and take its welfare schemes to the grassroots. “In just 18 months, our govt has delivered on promises no other state has fulfilled,” he added.
Revanth emphasised that the Congress could rule Telangana for at least another decade if its leaders and cadre maintained close contact with the people and ensured they were fully aware of the govt’s developmental and welfare efforts.
