Telangana factory tragedy: DGP Jitender says blast looks like accident, no evidence of sabotage
HYDERABAD: Top officials supervising the probe into the Sigachi factory explosion and the rescue efforts have stated that, at prima facie, the blast appears to have been an accident and that no evidence of sabotage has been found.
Telangana DGP Jitender visited pharmaceutical unit in Pashamailaram on Tuesday, where he monitored the rescue operations.
"Several victims have not yet been identified due to the nature of their injuries, and DNA fingerprinting is being used to establish their identities. The Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is handling the sample collection and analysis process, and additional manpower is being provided as needed. Since most of these victims are from other states, finding blood relatives to match DNA samples is time-consuming," said the DGP. The police are waiting for govt-appointed high-power panel report.
"Prima facie, it appears to be an accident, and no evidence of sabotage has been found so far," the DGP said.
