Bollywood actress, classical singer and dancer Aditi Rao Hydari took stage at an event on International Women’s Day in the city where she spoke about issues affecting women. The event was organised by Kohler India and as usual, it was about ‘Women Only’ in every sense of the word. From the camera crew to the speakers to the audience, the event was completely run by women.

Some of the greatest minds in the arts, architecture and design community offered their views on the topic, ‘The Goddess is in the Details.’

Aditi Rao Hydari also expressed her views on the topic in the signature Pecha Kucha format . Other notable speakers included architects Chitra Vishwanath, Shabnam Gupta, Sonali Bhagwati, Supraja Rao, Varuna Arvind and Laura Kohler, Senior Vice President- Human Resources, Stewardship and Sustainability, Kohler Company.

Pecha Kucha, which means chit chat, is a unique presentation format in which the speaker shows 20 image-only slides and can speak about them only for 20 seconds each. The brevity of the format forces the speakers to find creative ways to communicate their views on the topic, which usually initiates an interesting dialogue between the speaker and the audience. Commenting on her experience, Aditi said, “I am honoured to have been a part of this unique event that featured women from different walks of life and their illustrations on the topic ‘The Goddess is in the Details’. It felt special to have shared my interpretation of the same and the impact it had on my journey. It was inspiring to be a part of such a creatively challenging women-only event.”
