Bajaj Auto has refreshed its sports touring portfolio for 2025 with updated versions of its two popular models — the Dominar 250 and the Dominar 400. The latest iterations focus on improving the riding experience through a series of smart enhancements without altering the motorcycles’ fundamental powertrain architecture. With revised pricing, better ergonomics, ride-focused technology and new dashboard updates, the 2025 models aim to appeal to long-distance riders and daily commuters alike.

Ride-by-Wire and Riding Modes Boost Versatility

The most notable advancement in the new Dominar 400 is the introduction of ride-by-wire technology. This system eliminates the traditional cable-driven throttle, replacing it with electronic inputs for more responsive and precise acceleration. Bajaj has also added four distinct ride modes to enhance adaptability on different terrains: Road, Rain, Sport and Off-road. These modes adjust the throttle response and traction behaviour to suit varied riding conditions, making the 400 even more capable for adventure seekers.

The Dominar 250 retains a mechanical throttle setup but gets selectable ABS modes for improved safety under diverse braking conditions. Though not as feature-rich as its larger sibling, the 250’s upgrades are designed to offer practical control without overcomplicating the riding experience.

New LCD Console and Touring Features Add Practicality

Both models now come equipped with a new bonded glass LCD instrument cluster, similar to the one seen on the Pulsar NS400Z. The updated console offers improved readability and a cleaner, more modern design that aligns with the evolving tastes of younger riders. While it does not yet feature a full-colour TFT display, the LCD unit adds a touch of modern sophistication to the Dominar’s cockpit.

Factory-fitted touring equipment has also been introduced. Riders will now benefit from pre-mounted luggage carriers, enabling easier packing for weekend getaways or long-haul trips. A dedicated mount for GPS navigation devices has also been added, supporting the needs of riders who rely on digital tools for on-the-road directions.

Improved Ergonomics for Enhanced Comfort

Another area of improvement lies in the handlebar positioning. Bajaj has subtly revised the placement of the handlebars to create a more relaxed riding triangle, reducing strain on the rider’s arms and shoulders during long rides. The revised geometry enhances comfort without compromising on the Dominar’s trademark sporty stance. These ergonomic refinements are a clear nod to the bike’s touring DNA.

Engine and Performance Figures Remain Unchanged

While several rider-centric updates have been introduced, Bajaj has retained the core engine specifications for both models. The Dominar 400 continues with the 373.3 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 39 hp and 35 Nm of torque. Mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch, it offers a balanced mix of power and smooth gear transitions.

The Dominar 250 is powered by a 248.8 cc engine that delivers 26.6 hp and 23.5 Nm. Like its bigger sibling, it is equipped with a six-speed gearbox. Though positioned as the more accessible model in the series, it maintains adequate performance for both city commuting and light touring.

Pricing and Positioning

The updated Dominar 400 is priced at ₹2.38 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Dominar 250 is available at ₹1.92 lakh (ex-showroom). These prices reflect the value Bajaj continues to offer with its sports tourer lineup. While the bikes may not see radical design changes this year, the strategic feature additions aim to strengthen their appeal in an increasingly competitive market segment.

A Balanced Upgrade for the Practical Rider

With the 2025 Dominar 250 and 400, Bajaj has taken a balanced approach—adding enough new features to keep the models competitive, without altering the elements that existing fans already appreciate. The focus remains on comfort, ride flexibility and long-distance usability, positioning the Dominar duo as dependable partners for riders looking to blend performance with practicality.

These new updates reinforce Bajaj’s intent to keep the Dominar range relevant and rider-focused in the fast-evolving landscape of Indian motorcycling.
