Bajaj Auto is turning heads again with a strategic move to make its pioneering CNG-powered motorcycle more wallet-friendly. In a fresh pricing update, the base model of the Bajaj Freedom 125 has seen a temporary dip in cost, aimed at boosting adoption of environmentally friendly mobility solutions. This limited-period offer brings a fresh opportunity for Indian two-wheeler buyers looking to reduce fuel expenses without compromising on modern engineering.

A Brief Look at the New Price Tag

The base variant of the Bajaj Freedom 125 is now being offered at Rs 85,967 (ex-showroom), a marked reduction from its earlier price of Rs 90,976. This Rs 5,009 cut makes the world’s first petrol-CNG hybrid motorcycle even more accessible. While the base variant enjoys this revised pricing, the other two trims – Drum LED and Disc LED – continue to be priced at Rs 95,981 and Rs 1,10,976 respectively.

Although the offer is temporary, it strategically positions the bike for wider reach in price-sensitive markets. Bajaj had previously introduced a similar discount scheme in December, where the reduction was as high as Rs 10,000.

Unique Dual-Fuel Efficiency on Offer

What sets the Bajaj Freedom 125 apart is its hybrid fuelling system. It features a dual-fuel setup that allows riders to switch between petrol and compressed natural gas (CNG) using a handlebar-mounted switch. The bike is equipped with a 2-litre petrol tank and a 2kg CNG cylinder, making it versatile for both long city commutes and short local rides.

In terms of fuel efficiency, Bajaj claims that the motorcycle delivers an impressive 102 km per kg in CNG mode and around 65 km per litre on petrol. This dual mode of operation makes it an attractive option for riders looking to optimise running costs.

Engine, Performance and Build Details

Powering the Freedom 125 is a 124.58cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 9.3 bhp and 9.7 Nm of torque. This is coupled with a five-speed gearbox that ensures smooth transitions, especially when switching between CNG and petrol modes. The engine delivers adequate low-end torque for urban traffic while maintaining stability on open roads.

Suspension duties are taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock setup at the rear. Depending on the variant, the braking system ranges from drum brakes at both ends for the base and mid-level models, to a front disc brake in the top-end variant, enhancing safety.

Colour Options to Suit Every Style

While the base variant remains available in two colours — Pewter Grey and Ebony Black — the higher trims offer more vibrant choices. Buyers can choose from a palette that includes Caribbean Blue, Racing Red, and Cyber White. These colours appeal to a younger audience as well as mature riders who prefer a subtle or bold aesthetic.

Growing Popularity of Alternative Fuel Two-Wheelers

The launch and pricing strategy of the Freedom 125 aligns with a growing trend of fuel-conscious transportation. Rising petrol prices and increasing environmental awareness are leading more Indian buyers to consider dual-fuel or alternative energy two-wheelers. The limited-time price reduction is likely to fuel further interest in hybrid motorcycles, especially those from trusted brands like Bajaj.

Is Now the Right Time to Buy?

With the current offer making the Freedom 125 base variant more affordable than ever, this might be the ideal time for prospective buyers to make the switch. The added advantage of fuel savings, coupled with the reliability of Bajaj’s engineering, makes this dual-fuel bike a compelling option.

Whether you're a daily commuter looking for long-term savings, or an early adopter of cleaner technology, the Freedom 125 promises practicality, innovation, and now, greater affordability.
