Honda WN7 Electric Bike Brings Speed, Range & Style Together

Honda has officially lifted the covers off its first full-size electric motorcycle — the WN7 — at EICMA 2025. Positioned as a step-up for riders moving from smaller ICE bikes, the WN7 represents Honda’s entry into the performance-oriented EV space. The company promises a mix of excitement and practicality, supported by the brand’s proven engineering and electric expertise. With an impressive balance of range, power and technology, the WN7 marks a major milestone in Honda’s two-wheeler evolution.

Engine and Performance

The Honda WN7 uses a 9.3kWh battery pack and comes in two motor options — 11kW and 18kW. The 11kW version produces 11.2kW of power, while the higher variant delivers a maximum of 50kW, with both producing 100Nm of torque. The 18kW model can reach a top speed of 129kph, making it powerful enough for spirited highway rides. Honda has tuned the WN7 to deliver linear acceleration with responsive torque, creating an electric experience that feels both smooth and thrilling.

Range and Charging Capabilities

Efficiency remains one of the WN7’s key highlights. The 11kW model offers a range of up to 153km, while the more powerful 18kW version claims around 140km on a full charge. The motorcycle supports both Type 2 AC and CCS2 DC fast charging, the latter being a system more commonly seen in electric cars. This dual compatibility ensures quick and convenient charging across different infrastructure setups, making it practical for everyday commutes and longer rides alike.


Chassis and Ride Quality

The WN7 is built on a hollow aluminium monocoque chassis where the battery pack acts as a stressed member — a design that enhances rigidity and balance. Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm Showa USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. This setup delivers a stable and planted feel while ensuring comfort across varied surfaces. Braking performance is provided by Nissin dual-piston calipers on 296mm front discs, while the rear uses a single-piston caliper on a 256mm disc.

Safety and Electronic Systems

Honda has equipped the WN7 with an advanced cornering ABS system, supported by an IMU-linked setup that continuously adjusts braking and stability control. The system’s behaviour can be fine-tuned through the motorcycle’s 5-inch TFT display, offering riders greater customisation over their ride dynamics. This electronic sophistication ensures that safety remains uncompromised, whether riding through rain or tackling tight urban corners.


Riding Modes and Regenerative Braking

The WN7 comes with four pre-set riding modes — Standard, Sport, Rain and Econ — each altering throttle response, traction control and regenerative braking. Riders can also manually adjust deceleration levels from 0 to 3 using paddle controls placed on the left handlebar. This allows for intuitive control of regenerative braking, helping riders maximise efficiency or enjoy smoother transitions during spirited rides.

Target Audience and Positioning

Honda says the WN7 is designed for a younger audience seeking an upgrade from small-capacity internal combustion motorcycles. By offering two power configurations that align with A1 and A2 licence categories in Europe, the WN7 makes electric mobility accessible to a wider range of riders.
