Matter Motors , an innovative startup from Ahmedabad, has officially launched its electric motorcycle, the Matter Aera, in Bengaluru. With a starting price of Rs 1.88 lakh (ex-showroom), the company is offering an exclusive deal for the first 500 customers at Rs 1.79 lakh, which also includes a lifetime free battery warranty worth Rs 15,000. Additionally, a new experience hub will soon be available in Bengaluru for test rides and an up-close look at the motorcycle.
The Matter Aera is available in two variants, 5000 and 5000+, and features a standout 4-speed sequential gearbox—making it the only electric motorcycle in India to offer this feature. It’s powered by a 5 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering a range of 125 km on a full charge. The bike also boasts a 7.0-inch instrument cluster that provides access to navigation, ride stats, music, and more.
For added convenience, the Aera comes equipped with connected technology, including over-the-air (OTA) updates and a mobile app that allows users to track bike data, remotely lock the motorcycle, and set geo-fencing parameters. With dual disc brakes, telescopic front fork, and dual rear suspension, the Aera ensures a smooth and safe ride. The battery and bike both come with a 3-year warranty, and the company claims running costs of just 25 paise per kilometer, saving over Rs 1 lakh in three years.
Matter Motors’ Founder and CEO, Mohal Lalbhai, highlighted Bengaluru’s status as a hub of innovation, saying, "The Aera isn’t just a bike; it’s a revolution in electric mobility. With our Hypershift gearbox and cutting-edge connected tech, the Aera offers an exhilarating experience while being eco-friendly and cost-effective."
After its launch in Bengaluru, Matter Motors plans to expand the availability of the Aera across other key cities in India.
