MG Motor India has introduced its most premium electric vehicle to date—the M9 electric MPV. Priced from ₹69.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the M9 promises a blend of first-class comfort, powerful EV performance, and extensive features. Targeted at high-end family and executive transport, this new flagship from MG Select positions itself as an electric alternative to large luxury MPVs. With bookings now open and deliveries beginning 10 August 2025, the M9 brings EV sophistication to India’s elite people-mover segment.

Sleek Exterior With A Commanding Road Presence

The MG M9 carries a striking, boxy MPV profile and spans over 5.2 metres in length. Its upright stance and sculpted lines give it a commanding presence, complemented by 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and chrome detailing. A closed-off grille at the front signifies its EV identity, flanked by sharp LED headlamps. The rear is defined by a connected LED light strip and high-mounted stop lamp, enhancing its modern yet practical appeal. Buyers can choose from three elegant paint options: Pearl Lustre White, Metal Black, and Concrete Grey.

Powerful Battery With Long Range Capability

Under the bonnet, the M9 is powered by a 90 kWh lithium-ion NMC battery mated to a front-mounted electric motor. It delivers 245 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, offering a certified driving range of up to 548 kilometres on a full charge. MG provides two charging solutions as standard: an 11 kW wall-mounted home charger with professional installation and a portable 3.3 kW unit. The M9 also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, enabling users to power external appliances or even other EVs.

Business-Class Luxury Inside The Cabin

The real highlight of the M9 lies in its rear cabin. Offered in both 7- and 8-seater formats, the MPV features twin Presidential seats with 16-way adjustment, massage functions, heating, cooling, and reclining ottomans for unmatched comfort. A digital armrest control system allows passengers to adjust seating and entertainment features with ease. The rear section also boasts dual independent infotainment screens, ambient lighting, and electric sunshades. Up front, a 12.23-inch infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument display dominate the dash, paired with a premium 13-speaker JBL audio system.

Advanced Features For The Connected Traveller

In keeping with its premium positioning, the M9 is packed with cutting-edge technology. Apart from the luxurious seating and entertainment package, the vehicle includes advanced connected car tech, integrated voice commands, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. USB-C charging ports, wireless connectivity, and cloud-based vehicle control add to passenger convenience. MG’s proprietary SmartDrive system offers real-time diagnostics, remote AC control, and battery management. The inclusion of V2L and V2V further enhances utility for business users and long-distance travellers alike.

Built For Safety With Global Ratings

Safety has been prioritised with a 5-star crash safety rating from both Euro NCAP and ANCAP. The MPV features seven airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree surround-view camera. It also comes equipped with Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning. Together, these features make the M9 one of the safest MPVs currently available in the Indian market.

Positioned As A Premium Rival To ICE MPVs

Although the MG M9 doesn’t have a direct electric competitor in India, it will challenge high-end internal combustion engine MPVs such as the Kia Carnival. However, where ICE vehicles offer conventional luxury, the M9 brings a sustainable edge with electric performance, premium amenities, and futuristic tech. At ₹69.90 lakh (ex-showroom), it becomes MG India’s most expensive offering to date, positioned to cater to both business mobility and affluent families seeking zero-emission luxury.
